I've always wanted to write but taking the plunge and becoming a full-time writer back in 2003 was a scary step. I began with writing articles and secured my first book deal in 2004. My passion for history meant I found myself being in demand for articles about British heritage - anything from child labour in Victorian England to the origins of Battersea Dogs Home.

 

I have written for numerous publications, including the Daily Mirror. My short stories have appeared in several anthologies over the years and I was long-listed for the Asham Award and came second in the Rider Haggard Literary Award. My first historical novels are published under the pen name Evelyn James and are available on Amazon.co.uk, published by Red Raven Publications.

 

I write for pleasure as well as for a living and can't imagine a day without being creative in some way. I hope you enjoy reading my books and will visit my website regularly for updates.
